The most essential teachings for living a yogic life in a modern world!
Adore! Love! Would do it again! I really appreciated your attention to detail in bringing the teachings to life. The key thing I learned is how the Gita outlines clearly the path to psychological freedom. I loved going verse by verse. Don't change a thing! - Beth Lefebvre, Yoga Therapist {more love notes below!}
When recommending that students delve into the study of the Gīta, I confronted a gap in what was available.
On one end of the spectrum, highly technical courses {as I have attended} taught by Swamis S-L-O-W-L-Y parsing every Sanskrit term over hundreds of hours; and on the other end of the spectrum, oversimplified programs and books "for Westerners" that attempt to teach the Gīta in feel-good soundbites. In both cases, it seemed difficult to make connections from the ancient teachings to the demands modern lives.
I created Bhagavād Gīta Essentials to help bridge that gap to make these timeless teachings available to yogis in a way that is full of depth and authenticity, while being digestible and applicable to daily modern life.

What students say about Bhagavād Gīta Essentials
I was on the ‘edge of my bolster’ throughout the lectures, in utter awe and delight to receive these teachings. I loved the format. How it was repetitive but included different examples and perspectives to understand the teachings. Kaya's teaching method is super effective in general - I can’t imagine it being done better! Particularly, the weaving in of other’s teachings and what they would say in addition to her own. The biggest gain was learning about Karma yoga and the knowledge of HOW to bring yoga into everyday. I’ve seen the separation starting to fade between sitting in meditation and going about the rest of the day. I've become more clear about my place in the world as a yogi, which diffuses a lot of tension that was there before to uphold a distinction between my spiritual life and daily life. - Lauren Ziegler, Yoga Therapist and Meditation Teacher
For me, this is my second time studying the Gita. I loved that we dove deep into it and filtered it line by line. I appreciate how Kaya applies the teachings to daily examples and challenges we all face. It makes the teachings more digestible, relatable, and practical. The most important thing I gained is I now understand dharma and karma more and how they apply to everyday living in relationships, jobs, personal growth, etc. I feel like I have a better grasp of those two concepts now, and am comfortable explaining them to others. - Anonymous
In all my years of yoga, and previously trying to read the Bhagavad Gita on my own, this was the first time I was able to understand it. What I love about Kaya's teaching is the steadiness - nothing was rushed and how her passion for the teachings and knowledge was shared. - Anna Eshoo, Yoga Teacher and Studio Owner
I appreciated the explanation of the essence of each chapter. I found it helpful to study one chapter at a time to allow the teachings to percolate before going to the next. Through this course I have gained a sense of control over my life...that I am not at the mercy of my external circumstances. At the same time I have realized that some things are not in my control...difficult to practice but it is always in my awareness. Thank you. I'm going to study this again through the recorded lessons. Thank you Kaya! - Yvette Racines, Yoga Therapist, Teacher Trainer and Studio Owner
