Honoring yourself with sacred sleep ritual & Soma Nidra

Yoga Nidra Home Practice

You will have several yoga nidra practices to choose from in this program for your daily home practice ~ you can begin with this Soma Nidra ~ practice daily at a regular time, possibly before bed as part of your sleep ritual.

Lie down in bed, or in a shavasana position {we will learn more about this in an upcoming week}

Your sacred sleep space

  • Dedicate your bedroom to sleeping, resting, cuddling and lovemaking.
  • Clean your sheets, clean the space, make your bed look inviting!
  • Great bedroom colors for sleep include soft cool tones ~ soft lavenders, blues, whites, grays.
  • Cool down the temperature in the room with open windows, or turning down heat.

Sacred sleep time

  • Go to bed by 9pm-10:30pm, if you can. We will discuss why in the program.

Sacred Sleep Rituals

  • Try a hot or warm bath, massaging your feet with oil {you can add calming essential oils}, or doing yoga nidra before you go to sleep}
  • Put away technology 1 hour {minimum} before sleep
  • Avoid eating 3 hours before sleep {tea or warmed milk is fine} - the exception is if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother
  • Avoid intense exercise 3 hours before sleep
